Monday 22nd July - Oakey Reserve - Neil Turner Weir

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARRY

Started the morning with Max & Carol singing Happy Birthday to Barry (both off key!!!) but very thoughtful.  Last night we sat around our fire and had a few social drinks to welcome Max & Carol – not a late night so nice and chirpy this morning to start the drive up to Mitchell.  Funny sight this morning with Max & Carol perched up in the car starting to leave the campsite with their step still out as well as the door to the caravan wide open – maybe just a little anxious to get going !!!!!  Nice morning and no rain so far.  MT @ Miles ½ way between Chincihilla & Roma stopping at Roma to have a look at “The Emporium”.  This place has everything, and last time we were thru here I bought a gravy saucepan and Barry bought a dumpling press.  Not bad considering it is a Drapery….!! Today I am after a new camp toaster and Carol wants bed sox.  Pictures below of the inside packed to the rafters, unfortunately I didn’t get the toaster so I had to buy a mixing bowl just to say I got something.  We were stopped on the road between Roma & Mitchell while 100's of cattle crossed in front of us.  I love this travelling, something different around every corner.

The till area of The Emporium - unbelievable......

Carol at the entrance to one of the Aisles, couldn't get down there if we tried..
