Hit the road at 9.00am with fond farewells from our lovely neighbours/family. Looking forward to some nice warm days and balmy nights. While driving towards Cann River it was so cold outside that the driving mirrors on the car fogged up!!!! Early lunch at Cann River as I missed brekkie. Filled with fuel at Cooma and decided to keep going as we passed the campsite we were going to stay at before 2.30. Too early. Has started to get a little windy (3.00pm) but I think we are noticing it more because of the hills into Canberra.
Canberra to Sutton then up thru Gundaroo, which is a really lovely little town with 2 old pubs, would have loved to stop but maybe next time, then onto our stop for the night which is Gunning on the Old Hume Hwy. Great free camp, beside a little river, walking distance to the pub for a counter tea AND hot showers all for free. How good is that???? Lovely night, no wind and not cold for the walk up to the pub. Weather
changed at 4.00am when it started to rain - still not windy and up early
to hit the road to Dubbo.
