Sunday 18th August – Bramston Beach Caravan Park

Shifted over to Bramston Beach Caravan Park this morning where we have 2 nice sites on the hill overlooking the caravans in front of us and down to the beach.  Lovely little caravan park although much busier than the last time we were here with Maree & Paul. 6 years ago we managed to park our vans “lengthwise” along the road as there were hardly any other caravans in the park.  Not so now, the news has leaked out how lovely this place is and there are now heaps of “tourists”!!!!! Carol & I have done our walk along the beach and was pleasantly surprised to find lots of beautiful shells.  We didn’t even take our bags because we didn’t think there were any here.  Our collections are now starting to look very nice.  The shells we collected today were bigger & better than the ones we got at Wonga Beach and we thought those were pretty special.  When we were at Babinda Boulders there were 2 British girls in a little campervan next to us.  They gave us some fresh Mackerel which we cooked up for dinner tonight.  Absolutely wonderful, hope the boys can catch us some with all of Barry’s new Fishing Rods, Bait Boxes, Sinkers and other paraphernalia he now has…….Now he needs to put a rod carrier on the Caravan to carry his new rods.  He & Max are in their element measuring and deciding how to make & attach the rod carrier.
