Tuesday 13th August - Crystal Cascades CP (Cairns)

This morning Carol & I went for a walk along the walking track that winds around the back of the caravan park and heads towards a most beautiful babbling brook. I think this is where the Caravan Park gets it's name from....Crystal Cascades.  If you walk further you will get to the actual Cascades, which is what we will probably do tomorrow. Nestled in rainforest and really picturesque, with some very grand houses bordering the brook. (Tomorrow I will take the camera and get some photos of it). When we got back we decided it was time to head out on our shopping trip.  What a wonderful day full of bargains, shopping at DFO, where we bought from Rivers, Jeanswest & Williams Shoes just to name a few. Lots of trying on clothes and checking a few other "Boutiques" to see what bargains we could snaffle up....we both came home with bags of terrific buys.  For dinner we headed into Cairns to see if we could find a Vietnamese Restaurant, no luck and ended up at China Noodle Bar where the meal was very nice even if the "ambience" lacked a little.  Off to the Casino to throw away a few dollars, a walk through "The Night Markets", and then an ice-cream to finish before we went home. Sounds like a very touristy day when you write it all down like that.....Great Day.
