Friday 6th September - Lake Elphinstone (Free Camp 81)

Heading back inland for some more free camping for the next week.  Left Bowen early and traveled 223kms SW of Bowen towards Collinsville and then down to Lake Elphinstone via the Sutton Development Road.  Stopped for MT at Collinsville and then back on the road through Glenden, which is a Mining Town with its own Helipad and lots of "Mining" looking houses. It is so good to be back on the back roads without all the traffic, quite a few campers in at Lake Elphinstone but plenty of room, and a lovely lake with lots of grass and shade. Looks like we may stay here for 2-3 nights, before we head off again on our way down to Elliott Heads where we are booked in for a week from Friday 13th.

Barry relaxing at Etty Bay, picture taken by our neighbours, Collin & Margaret from Monbulk.  He certainly knows how to relax......

Homemade Hamburgers with The lot at the Paramount Caravan the night before we left Bowen.  A joint effort with Max cooking Onions & Eggs, Barry cooking the Hamburgers & Bacon and Kay toasting the Buns.  Carol got to put them all together and we all thoroughly enjoyed them........YUMMMMYYY

Our campsite at Lake Elphinstone with the fire getting started so I can cook up an Apple Crumble for dessert....(eating like Kings)
